Please, will you help us?
There are many ways you can support our call for help.
Primarily, we’re requesting donations via our GoFundMe page to supplement our meagre diet and imposed medical costs.
Please use the link below to read more, donate, or share.
The link above does not commit you to any action. From there you can read more, make a donation, or select the share button, giving various options for sharing with others. Please be aware any additional support requested by the gofundme platform for their own use is entirely optional.
Please also note, the £2000 target figure is a monthly target. We’re aiming for each group member to receive £3 a day. More info on the GoFundMe page.
Asking for funds is not easy for us. We are a proud group, brought together by circumstances, our innate sexuality and similar experiences of hate and prejudice towards us.
If we were in a position to support ourselves, we wouldn’t make such a request. But the Kenyan Government do not allow us to work. Other camp residents make it impossible for us to join further education opportunities or start any profitable business.
And between us, we have no sustainable income to help make our miserable existence in camp a little more comfortable. We rely on the United Nations World Food Program for the only food we can access. It is never enough to satisfy hunger or to maintain our mental and physical health.
Collectively, how long we are to remain in this hellhole of misery is a burden we live with.
We need funds to buy extra food, medicines and items to make our shelters more comfortable. Most of us sleep only on a thin mat with one blanket. Our children need proper food and regular nourishment. Their overall health hovers on the edge of malnutrition.

Our funding request
As nicely as possible, we ask 400+ kind people worldwide to make a small monthly donation to our GoFundMe appeal.
From the news we can access via our limited mobile phones, we appreciate we are lucky compared to some. Empathising with people facing harsher realities puts our circumstances into perspective, but doesn’t change our situation here in Kakuma.
Everyone who kindly donates to our appeal will receive regular updates via email about the progress and success of our appeal, and how it is making positive changes to our existence in camp. (Donors can opt out of receiving emails.)
How you can donate
You can donate only via the official GoFundMe website. Please use the authenticated links on this page.
There are 21 of us in the group, including seven children. Our funding initiative aims to fund each and everyone in the group.
